Today, the Uzhhorod National University, Department of Family Medicine and Outpatient Care of the School of Medicine 2 and the InterFamily Clinic had a real celebration. We were honored to host incredible POCUS trainers from Lviv: gastroenterologist Stanislav Kravchuk and intern Kateryna Koshova, who conducted practical training in applied ultrasound diagnostics – POCUS (Point-of-Care Ultrasound).
The fact that a family doctor can pick up a portable ultrasound machine right at the appointment and get answers to important clinical questions, for example:
– Is there a gallstone in the gallbladder?
– Is the liver enlarged?
– What does the thyroid gland look like?
– Are there any nodes or cysts?
– Is there fluid in the lungs or abdomen? etc.
POCUS is fast, accurate, and truly useful. It is care not only in words but also in actions. This is evidence-based medicine in action, which helps you make decisions here and now, and not postpone them for later.
Real miracles happen when good hearts meet great ideas!
The Charity Foundation “Together for Ukraine”, represented by Ms. Olga, made a gift that is difficult to overestimate – three portable ultrasound machines for POCUS for the Department of Family Medicine of the Medical Faculty of UzhNU 2!
Now POCUS training at the department will become even better.
The Vutterfly POCUS is not just a piece of equipment.
This is a new level of learning.
This is high-quality medical care even closer to the patient.
This is an opportunity for our teachers not only to teach, but also to act, to inspire, to show how family medicine is becoming modern, evidence-based, and strong.
We sincerely thank the Razom Foundation and the POCUS trainers for their trust, support and this invaluable contribution to the future of Ukrainian medicine.
Your help is a step towards the changes we are making together!
