These days, Uzhhorod is once again in the center of professional attention of the medical community. For the second time in the history of teaching family medicine in Ukraine, the international interactive course “Leonardo Uzhhorod” was held here, an event that brings together the best family medicine teachers from all over Ukraine.👩🏼‍🏫🩺

🔹 The unique atmosphere of European learning
The course is conducted by a team of experienced trainers from the UK, Switzerland, Portugal, as well as Ukrainian specialists who have gained experience abroad and returned to share their knowledge here at home. The course participants do not just listen to lectures, but are immersed in an active learning environment: they work in groups, discuss teaching challenges, try out modern methods of interacting with students and planning educational events.

🔹 Why Uzhhorod?
The westernmost city of Ukraine is not only cozy and safe, but also deeply patriotic. The organizers of the course are Uzhhorod residents who want to show that Uzhhorod can be a platform for European-level educational initiatives. The university, the clinic, the city are all united around a common goal: to raise the level of medical education.

🔹 Innovations are born here
A special place in the course program is occupied by the “Teaching Innovations Fair”, where each participant can present their own educational projects — something they are really proud of. It is a space for inspiration, exchange of ideas, and creation of the future of family medicine teaching in Ukraine.

🔹Who supports the course?
The project was initiated by the Department of Family Medicine and Outpatient Care. It was supported by Uzhhorod National University, the InterFamily Clinic, the European educational project ShowUp4Health, Abbott, and the participants themselves through personal contributions and active participation. The course was opened with the participation of two deans of the medical faculties of UzhNU, which emphasizes the strategic importance of the event.
