In the first part, InterFamily provides <\/span><b>targeted training for doctors, nurses, and clinic staff. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These short (2\u20133 hour) sessions teach healthcare providers how to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Teach, Plan and Carry out Screening<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of\u00a0 non-communicable diseases<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Management <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of patients with the diagnosed chronic diseases\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Rehab<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> -Support recovery from serious events like strokes or heart attacks<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><b>Addressing Hidden Mental Health Challenges<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The InterFamily team observed that many IDPs often report physical symptoms instead of underlying <\/span><b>mental health issues, such as anxiety or depression<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. To address this:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Special <\/span><b>screening tools and communication techniques<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were added to the training<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>support system<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> allows doctors to consult mentors and specialists<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Patients can access <\/span><b>free psychological care<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through family doctors, psychologists, and psychiatrists, funded by a dedicated grant<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><b>Using Digital Tools to Improve Care<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A key digital tool was\u00a0 introduced:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Web based <\/span><b>Screening Advisor<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Program <\/span><b>CheckMe <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 A digital health advisor that helps doctors to plan screening\u00a0 of hidden diseases and <\/span><b>gives personalized health recommendations,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> particularly useful for IDPs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Supported by the SHOW4Health Grant<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to the SHOW4Health grant, the project funds a team of <\/span><b>seven healthcare professionals,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Family medicine experts Team\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A cardiologist<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An endocrinologist<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Psychiatrist<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A team of psychologists<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Family nurses<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>mobile team<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> providing care for elderly patients in nursing homes<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Community Partnership and Ongoing Evaluation<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project collaborates with local <\/span><b>NGOs, camp leaders, and community partners<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to ensure services are accessible and well-coordinated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To track impact, the team:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Measures how many people are screened before and after training<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gathers feedback from healthcare staff<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monitors how well new skills are applied in practice<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reviews progress and identifies areas for improvement<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By combining <\/span><b>training, digital innovation, expert support, and strong pa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rtnerships, \u201cInterFamily\u201d\u00a0 is working to improve healthcare for displaced people, make it more effective and sustainable, and ensure long-term impact.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Project has been introduced at the international level during the 100<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> EGPRN Conference of family physicians in Gothenburg (Sweden).<\/span><\/p>\n<figure
