<\/p>\nThe “InterFamily” Clinic, the Department of Family Medicine and Outpatient Care of the Medical Faculty 2 of UzhNU, within the framework of the Ukrainian-British VCE project and the European international project ShowUp4Health, has launched a unique training course “Virtual Clinical Practices of a Family Doctor” \ud83e\udd73\ud83c\udf8a.<\/p>\n
The course is designed for medical students of UzhNU and other universities of Ukraine (Odesa, Kharkiv and Bukovyna Medical Institutes).<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the number of students who dream of family medicine as their future specialty is very small – only one group has chosen this profile this year at UzhNU.<\/p>\n
Why is this so? Because it is these specialists that the state lacks, and the profession itself is interesting and unique. It’s just that students have never had the opportunity to meet this specialty until the 6th year of study, they have not had the opportunity to visit a family doctor’s office, and this can be as interesting as the operating room or maternity hospital \u261d\ud83c\udffc<\/p>\n
During the war, in many regions, it is extremely difficult for students to do clinical practice on an outpatient basis, and there has always been a lack of training facilities. Now students have the opportunity to visit a family doctor virtually \ud83d\udc69\ud83c\udffc\u200d\ud83d\udcbb\ud83c\udfe5<\/p>\n
Moreover, with the help of unique virtual medical devices, \u201cvisitors\u201d have the opportunity to see patients through the eyes of a doctor (using virtual glasses) and \u201cexamine\u201d them together with a family doctor: examine the fundus (virtual ophthalmoscope), the ear (virtual otoscope), diagnose skin lesions (virtual dermatoscope), and auscultate the lungs and heart (virtual stethoscope) \ud83e\udd7c\ud83e\ude7a<\/p>\n

Everything that happens in the doctor’s office is broadcast using an angled video camera that captures the participants of the consultation from a different angle. Thus, students have a 3D view during the doctor’s appointment.<\/p>\n
Virtual clinical practices are held weekly on Mondays and can be joined by 200 participants!<\/p>\n
Of course, the broadcast takes place with the patient’s consent and does not require recording, so it is unique at each appointment \ud83d\ude4c\ud83c\udffc<\/p>\n
